Not common. Rhizomatous herb to 1.1 m. Culms blue green to dark green, easily compressed, pith interrupted. Sheaths brown to dark brown, lax. With Juncus ingens (JH 653) & Juncus subglaucus (JH 655). Si gel, Spirit.
